Danny James
Musician, Instructor, and Luthier
Growing up in an artistic household, Danny James began his musical journey at the age of six. Inspired by a deep love of American Rhythm and Blues, he quickly developed a passion for guitar and live performance.
By age 17, Danny was already performing professionally, and at 19 he auditioned for and joined the renowned band Art Steele’s Blues Breakers. His accomplishments in music led to opportunities to meet and connect with legendary blues artists including B.B. King, Otis Rush, John Mayall, Chuck Berry, and Bo Diddley.
Danny furthered his musical education at the Conservatory of Music in New England, where he studied theory and composition and completed the Berklee Modern Method for Guitar. During this time, he began teaching and soon advanced to the role of Assistant Director at the conservatory.
In addition to performing and teaching, Danny apprenticed with a professional guitar luthier, mastering the restoration and repair of vintage stringed instruments.
In 2015, Danny relocated from Northampton to Central Florida, where he continues his lifelong path as a musician, instructor, and craftsman.
Danny teaches students of all ages and skill levels. His instruction includes acoustic and electric guitar, bass, mandolin, ukulele, banjo, dulcimer, steel guitar, harmonica, songwriting, music theory, composition, and performance.
